Dear Mr. Edwards:
As you know, you represent a great hope for change. We all want a leader who is both just and strong, not a coward who sits at a desk all day and does nothing for his people. We don't want a tyrant to rule out of force and fear. We want a compassionate person who cares for all. I guess what I'm trying to say is that many people trust you to be a kind-hearted future leader who is still tough enough to fight for what you believe. It would be sad if all of your speeches are just talk. We want you to keep your word. I know that you say you're the one candidate who speaks with truth, but what proof do we have?
I am well aware of the upcoming elections. And I am also aware on how they will affect my future. I ask you, what will you do to change the lives of children? How is it you plan to inspire America's future? The war in Iraq should be over by now. The government is spending too much money on something useless. If you could take all the money spent on war, how many schools would be equipped the materials needed to learn? Children are the most needy. Of course there are the homeless (which, of course is another thing more people should be concerned about) but they aren't going to run America in a few years. Time flies, and our future needs to be taken care of.
Another thing I want to make sure you'll actually help with is the healthcare possibilities. Too many sick and injured don't go to hospitals because they know what the price is too high. Without health care or insurance, a lot of families have sick children in bed all day. No prescribed medication helps them get better. If you do win the election and you don't help out with the health care problems I'd like you to keep this in mind next time you hear some little girl died of cancer: her parents voted for you and look what you've given them, a dead daughter. Let's see if that doesn't send you on a guilt trip. I’m hopeful, however, that you will keep your word and reform health care. I know you’ve been fighting this cause for years.
Well, I've pretty much covered all I wanted to discuss. Pretty much all that can affect my family anyway. Oh, wait. Immigration! If you think that they're just here to wreak havoc, keep an eye out and count how many gangsters are here legally. How many delinquents have papers and were even born here. Then again, if you are in favor of the immigrants, if I were able to, you'd probably have my vote. In fact, you’d have many people's votes; people who are too scared to speak up. As I said before, we want a leader that cares for his people; not a coward who sits at the desk and lets others do the work. Think of what I've written. Many others probably think the same thing.
Sincerely:
Alma Preciado
