Senator Letter #47

Dear Senator:

I am a student from Borman Middle School. My name is Cameron
I am writing this letter to you for seeing to what you think about
the law abut immigration I am doing it so I can know if you are for
or against immigrants do you think that they should be able to stay
here in the united states or do you think that they should not get free
papers.

I think that the problem for having the illegal immigrants here is that
there are some bad people that are not aloud her and they think that
they can just rule over us but there is people here that are just trying to
let there family live in a safe place and they are just trying to support there family
so the only bad thing abut it is the bad ones but the rest are just trying to get
a life so I think that you should pass the law if you become president
but the ones that are bad one time put it on there record and send them back.

I want you to be able to pass the law because they are good people there
aren't doing anything to us so you should pass the law that immigrants
can stay and get free papers for to stay here in the united states. I think that will be cool if you can try to pass the law for the immigrants to stay as long as they respect our country.

I would like to thank you for reading this letter I think that it is very important
because they need help and I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this letter so I believe that if you read this you would understand thank you for your time I
hope that you would think about this it will be nice. Thank you for your time

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #46

Dear Senator:

I'm an 8th grade student that wants to make a difference in someone's life . I am writing this because I want to give the immigrants the right to go to college or university. I believe that every person should have an opportunity to go to college or university if you choose to .Just because they are undocumented people does it mean that they can't get a better education? A lot of high school graduates are ready to go to college or university. The problem is that some of those students get sad to leave high school because they know that they wont be able to go to college or university.

Many immigrants wish they were legal to get a better education by being able to go to college or university. Every year some high school graduates don't get the opportunity to go to college or university because of this situation. That's why the law that my and I chose was about immigrants should have the right to go to college or university. This law will have its ups and downs some are going to be very interesting and others typical. That will probably happen because people all have different opinions and beliefs.

I want you to make my groups law into a real life law. I want you to give the immigrants an opportunity to go to college or university. After the person graduates from college or university they should be able to get a job , but they have to finish college or university to be able to get a job. They should also be treated with the same respect as other students at colleges or universities. They should pay the same amount for college or university like the other students that go there.

I think that this law will work because the immigrants will finally get an opportunity to go to college or university . They could finally prove to the country how much they appreciate them for the law that change their lives. I think that this law will be one of the best things that could happen to a high school graduate that is legal. This will make the country look smarter and nicer than it is right now. More people will have a better life and not suffer as much any more.

Thank you so much for reading my letter I really appreciated. Hopefully you will consider my opinion and make into a law. If you do decide to make into a law I will be very grateful and thankful. Hopefully by reading my letter you will know that many immigrants would love to get an opportunity of going to college or university. Thank you again for reading my letter and please think about my opinion.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #45

Dear Senator:

Our names are Cecelia Gonzalez Anysa Jimenez and Desereye Rodriguez, we go to Frank Borman Middle School, and were in the eighth grade. I'm writing you this because we have written a law that we would like to share with you. The reason we're writing this to you is because we would like you to hear our law and potentially help me pass it. We would very much appreciate it.

We need this law because well teens are getting pregnant and killing the babies because they aren't ready to become a mommy but instead of killing the poor innocent babies they should just give birth and but the babies up for adoption. We think it I super sad to hear about the poor babies dying. Most teen moms either abort their baby or end up killing them themselves and throwing them in the garbage which is not right at all!!! Now a days teen moms are cruel to their kids. This law will stop moms for killing their poor innocent babies. It will save the babies because most moms get an abortion because they don't want their parents to know that they are pregnant because they know that the parents would kill them. So if we pass the law that no one can get an abortion without a parent signature then the moms will think first about what they are doing. We will be saving lives. We will become heroes.

This law will definitely affect the teen moms who get pregnant and want an abortion because they will end up having to tell their parents that they had sex and need to get an abortion so they will need a signature to get it. This will also effect the little babies who are dying because now they will actually get a chance to come into the world maybe if the grandparents aren't so cruel. We think that the law might effect the whole world because there are people all over the world that think that abortion should be illegal that no one can get one, but there are others who believe that abortion is okay.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to read our letter, we know its kind of cheesy but we feel like its an important law. We would very much appreciate it if you would actually consider passing our law. We feel that well like that poor innocent babies shouldn't die just because their moms are scared to tell their parents that they had SEX!!! Thanks so much for your time.

Sincerely:

Anysa Jiminez, Desereye Rodriguez, Cecelia Gonzalez

Senator Letter #44

Dear Senator:

My name is Jackie and I'm 13 years old. I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I am writing to you because of a big problem! Smoking. That's a very bad and nasty habit. I think it should be against the law to have tobacco. All it does is cause problems. There are people dying from cancer which was caused by smoking.

You will see people smoking all the time. It's gross! The smell even makes me want to barf. Do you really want people getting sick because of this? Another thing, it's addicting. It really causes a lot of problems. Plus the smoke flows in the air and makes kids sick. Yes, it's that harmful!

Now all I really want is for you to help out with this. Now I know people are addicted and would do it illegally. So you can just raise the price way higher! No one would buy it after that. So that's a good way to go. It's sad seeing people get cancer and diseases all the time. Some even have to get a tube put into their throat to be able to breath! So please help out.

Well thank you so very much for taking your time to read this letter. I want you to know I really appreciate it. Hopefully you'll keep this is consideration. Well have a great day. Once again thank you for reading this!

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #43

Dear Senator:

Hello my name is Karla Garcia.

I am from Frank .A. Borman I am an 8th grader. I am Thinking that you should pass this law I am writing this to the senator to inform him about our law that I came up with. I think that this law is going to help allot of people. Our law is to lower the taxes because many people aren't paying them because many of them have to pay more than they get back and. That’s what I think that you should lower the taxes.

Well why you ask? because some people don't have the money to pay all the taxes. Don’t you think that you should lower them not everyone is going to have the money to pay them all. It can be hard for some people to pay them all at once. They need to pay other things to you know. If your were like living the life of people that have Barley money to pay something and also have to pay the taxes. Wouldn’t you want to tell the senator to lower them. Its not going to be that hard just to change a law that wont hurt anyone.

Its hard for people that work and don't have enough money. It would work because they people that need the taxes are still going to get the money. Also the people that are paying it are not going to waste that much no more. I think that this is even for both I think it would work its a good thing don't you think. I think so because were not going to waste a lot of money and not get a lot back. I know that this is going to be a good law.

I thank you the senator for reading my letter. It is very kind of you taking your time to read this which is very important. I hope you think about what you just read. It would be nice if u make this law happen. Hope you just don't denier it because it would help others to pay little bit less. I thank you that for respecting for what I think. Thank you again and have a nice day.

Sincerely:

Karla Garcia

Senator Letter #42

Dear Senator:

My name is Eunice Leyva and I attend Frank Borman Middle school I'm recently in 8th grade and am concerned with an issue for the drinking age limit. I'm aware that being intoxicated and driving is a thing that is done by teens and is a hazardous thing to do. But why consider 18 year old kids "adults" when they don't get all the privileges it comes with? They're able to vote and contribute with societies choices. I strongly believe if you call a person an adult or consider them adults, why don't you give them their full rights of adolescence? Frankly I think it's a bit idiotic to disable this right to "adults" of 18,19, and 20. They're old enough to know what they're consuming, and are also aware of the consequences.

More and more young adults try alcohol, three fourths of 12th graders have consumed alcohol drinks in parties and other places where teens hang out. These young adults are going to drink even though it's "illegal" so why not make it legal? If they're old enough to die for their country they're old enough to have the privilege to drink alcohol. Having a substance not legal for them makes them want it more. Like the garden of Eve it's relevant to it but instead of an apple it's liquor.

The point I'm trying to get across is that these "adults" get tempted and usually people fall into temptation. The things that we're not allowed to have makes them even more special than they really are because of the mere fact of them not being available to them. Many countries allow adults of the age of 18 and up to consume alcoholic beverages.

If you would lower the drinking age to 18 there would be less "adults" in jail for abusing an "illegal" substance. Drinking won't be such a big deal with young adults because they'll have access to the alcohol. You could educate these "adults" in alcohol and it's affects. Get them more involved in learning what the affects of liquor are and health risks.

They're going to try alcohol regardless of what the government says. So why not make them full adults and give them they're full rights of adult hood. Take them seriously because you give them all these privileges to fight for your country, vote being considered an "adult". They should really start treating them like the "adults" that they are. Well I really appreciate the time you took from your hectic schedule to read this letter. It means a lot that my voice gets heard. I really hope you take this under consideration and acknowledge the subject a little better. Maybe this helped you grasp the concept and understand how the young adults feel. Again thanks for reading.

Sincerely:

Eunice Leyva

Senator Letter #41

Dear Senator:

My name is Tommy Holt I go to Borman Middle School in Phoenix, AZ.
I am 13 years old and I am a football player. But my biggest concern is that
America should pass the law for the immigrants to have papers. There is no
doubt in my mind that you have head this before, but allot of the immigrants
have worked hard to get where they are today. And I as an American Citizen
know that they should have papers to.

Allot of the immigrants have been here for a while. Some of the immigrants
have only been here for months. I'm not saying you should stop controlling
the border, I'm just saying that the immigrants that been here for over a
certain amount years should be able to stay as long as they don't break any
of the laws. I know that a certain amount of the immigrants a good in following
the American laws. And they should be able to stay here because they're working
hard.

A huge percent of the immigrants are children most of the people when they
here the word immigrant they think of someone standing out side of home
depot that is not the case. The children that are crossing the border with
their parents don't even know that they are committing a crime. So why
punish the children for doing something that they don't even know is wrong.
Where is the justice in that. The immigrants come to America to get a better
life, America should take that as a compliment and not in a bad way. We need
to trinity about that, (as George Bush would say). Once again I'm not saying
America should let anyone come to America and do what they want, but at
least gives them a chance. Now as a fellow American citizen I think we should give these people a chance, because immigrants are people to. And I think America is treating these immigrants really bad. Our impact program is really trying hard to
interview 100 immigrants after that then judge them.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #40

Dear Senator:

My name is Katherine Lara and I go to Frank Borman Middle School. My teacher Mr. Spencer that's a social study teacher wanted us to have an opportunity to write you a letter about a law. Us as students had to come up with a law that we would like for you to see and read. I decided that my law was going to involve social security. You may think that I may not know that much about it, but I know just a little bit and just by knowing that makers me think all confused about it. The thing that I'm confused about it is that why do only people with papers have it? Why not immigrants.

Have you ever tough about giving social security for everyone, or for the people that need it? As you could see people need social security for them selves or for there family members. They may probably need it because they need health care to go and check himself or herself in the doctor. The problem that people have with the social security is that sometimes when they need to use the doctor, they can't because to see the doctor you need social security. This law would change in every certain way. The senator would give social security for the people that need it and not just give it away for everyone.

Social Security has been an issue for immigrants because of their health care. People may think that Social Security isn't a big of a deal. They may say that because they do have the card, but they need to imagine and see who does it feels for them to be in an immigrant's place. It isn’t that easy. When they want to get a job or get interviewed they need to show there social security, some jobs ask for it, but some don’t. The jobs that probably don't ask for it, are the ones that pay little bit of money, and the ones that do are the ones that you need to have social security and if you don't you won't get the job. When they don't get the job they don't know where to get the money to feed there families and that's really sad.

What would be great for you to do is for you to just try to give out social security and just see how it goes. That would be really great and awesome. I would like for you the senator to read my letter and think about this law. If this law gets to be accepted I think that all the immigrants would get a decent job. We wouldn't see them no more in Home Depot trying to look for a job. Instead they would in there first day of there new job. Just imagine the change that would make for all of us. I mean for all the immigrants with out social security.

The problem that people will get about the social security would probably be that they would be like,” Know that we got social security we could what ever we want”. That would be the bad part about it. The immigrants should be happy and thankful if you give out the social security. It would change many lives for families. In the way that it would change is that the parents would have a good and job and they wouldn't have to worry no more about what if they don't have money for there food or for there shelter.

Sincerely:

Katherine Lara

Senator Letter #39

Dear Senator:

I am writing these letter to let you know that that lots of people come here from a other place and come here to work and when they come her they some times and they have lots of trouble when they go like to places like the doctor and lets say that someone is sick one of there family and they don’t might have an idea of whets going on so I would want that if they could give the social security and like that it would be more easier for them so they can have a better life but having the social security because it would be much easier and like that they can go to the doctor and don’t have to pay that much money because so that yo8u can have doctor insurance to have to have a social se
I think that’s good that they can be able to have social secure it because they need it for lots of things when they go to the doctor when they go to fill out a application and a job interview or where ever they go that they have to fill out applications they have to put the social security number and that’s very important.

So please senator please give social security to people that don’t have one because it helps them greatly.

Dear Senator:

I am Marilyn Hernandez am 14 years old.I 'm living Phoenix Arizona. I'm writing to you because there a big problem! I am writing this for I could tell you that what are the thing that senator needs to change. What a lot of people do and died why because they smoke. The congress to pass it by learn those entire thing that we don’t' what it to happen as if all of those people that died when they do drugs .

The law that it to be finish it about tobacco because a lot kids and people things that it really cool about it but when it not. All of these that kids go though when they don't even have parents. Don't know where there kids at but there with friends that not even friend they are make do drugs for they could do the some thing like them. Parents sometimes there the some there parent do it they think it fun to do it that the problem a lot of kid think it cool about it.

To help out he could take that think about from the united state. All of that you that you could help by doing a better job. You could help by they could need to pay more money for it. And to make it a better thing and have all of there needed to those people that needed to help them. Those people that are and the street that they don't have no where to go. In those that what money to buy there drugs.

I know that I'm taking your time. But I hope you read it and help those people.
You needed to be more helpful as if you could make more houses for them and have a better life for them.

Senator Letter #38

Dear Senator:

Hello I am Erica Fuentes. I am 14 years old and I am writing this to tell you about a law that I have been thinking about. It’s one that causes many problems. The problem is that there's a lot of people that are using tobacco and there dieing because of that nasty thing and that's not good. The law that I want you to change is to make tobacco illegal. I've seen a lot of people smoking that and when I see them I think about there lives and I start crying because I feel so bad for them and it brakes my hart of hearing that people die for that nasty thing.

Maybe that is not realistic. Perhaps we cannot change it. Well I think by changing the law would not help but if you change the law then you could raise the price of tobacco then that will help because some people don't hove the money to by that expensive thing. That will help a little so I thing you should change that law for illigal tobacco so that a lot of peoples live will change. Also that when people are passing through they won't see people doing tobacco and they won’t ruin their lungs.

Well thank you for reading my letter and I would really be happy of you by changing the law so that people will be much better of live thank you very much.

Sincerely:

Erica Fuentes

Senator Letter #36

Dear Senator:

My name is Fernando Chavez I'm 13 years old and I'm currently living in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm a sending this letter to try to persuade you to change a law. To see my point of view. To get you to see how changing this law could help 12 million people. I may be only 13 yet I know more than you think. America has many problems right now one of them is that America is trillions of dollars in the hole. What I have to say could pull America out of the gutter.

America is in serious dept right now. We owe trillions of dollars right know. This proposal can be an enormous amount of help. There are currently 12 million immigrants without legal documents. I suggest that we try to pass a Workers Visa act. Allowing immigrants to stay here as long as they hold a job. They must hold it for 1 year or more. After a two year period they can apply for citizenship. They must of held that job for more then half of the two years and not have committed any crimes. Want to know how this will help America with its dept.

Mr. Senator what I want you to do is to give all immigrants a workers visa. At least give them a chance to work. We are just asking for one chance. Now their are mom's who are immigrants for them they must stay find a way to work for one year or must stay married to someone who has held a job for the required time period. You need to pass this law to get America out of dept.Their are currently 12 million immigrants with out documents. If you charge them each 100 dollars for a Visa you will get
1,200,000,000$ In cold hard cash. That can help America with the dept you guys are in..

Think about these things that I have presented to you. This can only help you. What harm can come from this. The amount of money can only increase. Their are hundreds of immigrants wanting to come here. This can help you. Think about it you get 1,200,000,000 just for letting people come here to work here.

Sincerely:

Fernando Chavez

Senator Letter #35

Dear Senator:

I'm a student at Borman Middle School, in Phoenix Arizona. I wanted to right to you about a law that I had been wanting to happen, in which hasn't. It's about an issue that's going around the Country, actually no, its a round the world. I have been hoping you would approve it. The issue is that people in our country are not really helping out with Africa. In Africa, people are dying because of the bad water, no water, deceases, and more. We need people to volunteer to help. To just put in their time. We need them to help keep the children and adults alive. They shouldn't die young. What if we created a program for students in high school to visit Africa to raise awareness, volunteer in charities and make a difference?

What I would like them to do is just come in and helps. This is my idea, for those who are wanting to go to college but aren't affording it at this moment, then they could be given scholarships, for helping, caring, and hopefully their intelligence. If they volunteered in Africa while keeping up with their studies, they could earn a scholarship for college. For those others they'll have a place in our hearts. I would like for you to help out with this idea. Hopefully you approve it, and when you do help out with this it can lead to more volunteers. The people will think anyone can help, even people who have accomplished things in life. The world will no longer look down on us so much, but will see us as the nation that cares about the world’s poor.

I think that this will work because many people care about Africa, and college. So I believe there will be a lot of people joining. Nobody likes seeing people die and suffer. We are a world that is living in same place that we should help each other no matter how much it's worth. If they were suffering they would want help. I would, you would , and everybody would.Thank you very much for reading my letter. This means a lot. Hopefully you will work with this and help out. If you know what the best thing to do, then approve this. Everyone will be thankful and you'd be the hero.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #34

Dear Senator:

My name is Karen Galvez. I'm 13 years old and I go to Frank Borman Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm in 8th grade. I know you are wondering, why is this young lady writing to me? The reason I'm writing this is because I really think the immigrants should have a second chance. I think the law should have been past when you had a chance to pass the Amnesty law. That's the reason why I'm reason I'm writing this to you.

I'm really proud of my background. I’m Mexican-American. I really enjoy both cultures a lot. You probably think my family is immigrants. Well if you did then you're right. That’s the main reason I'm writing this. We’ve always had a hard time. The main reason is they are immigrants. They sometimes want to go back but then they don’t. We don't go because I tell them that I don't want to go. Well at least until I finish High School. That’s the only thing that holds them back. You know that we had a lot of hope that one day they will pass the Amnesty law. That way we can come and go and they work here. In this time it’s really hard to get a job. So, not only will it help me but it will also help millions of people that are in the same situation as me. Or an even harder situation. I’m only doing it for me but for those other immigrants out there in the USA.

Amnesty should have been past when it had the chance. It worked when Reagan passed it and the economy and tax revenue improved. Consider that. Everyone deserves a chance to try to stay in this country. Especially the immigrants that is 15 and younger. They have a whole life ahead of them. They especially should have a chance to stay here and get an education. Also the immigrants that have children born here should stay as well. Their children have all rights to stay here and grow with their parents.

Also immigrants that are willing to work should at least have stay here a year and see if they do anything illegal. If they do they should go back. Some people that were born here and grow-up they don't even bother to work. Then they are all arguing that immigrants are taking their jobs, when most of them don't even have a job. I’m not saying that you should give all the immigrants. Only the ones with no criminal record have a job etc...

I'm trying to make you pass the law. I just want you to consider my opinions. I hope you agree with me. If you do or you already did please help me to try to convince the other senators to agree with me (us). That will help a lot in trying to pass the law. Imagine how many people will be happy. So, please help me and all those other people that are for civil rights, and that believe that everyone should have a chance to have a better life.

If the law passes imagine what will happen to this country we live in. The countries economy will go up because we will have more people working jobs. We won't starve because we will have people working on getting food for the country. We will have a lot of things we normally won't have. Also since immigrants (15 and younger) are going to have a chance to get a good education. We will also have more doctors, lawyers etc...If the law does not pass those kids or teenagers won't be doing all those careers. That we all need in our country.

Also If the law is passed immigrants won't be hiding no more. For example a lot of immigrants are hiding. Why? Well only because they don't want to be deported. Another thing is that people are scared to go out to the store or some place. They don't want to leave. They know they could get a better life here. That’s why I've always been fighting for civil rights. I believe that people should be able to stay here, and work a job. Well only under some circumstances. Is that so hard?

If they can't come here or stay here and work. Then people from this country shouldn't go to other places. For example an American can't go Mexico. Why? Well because their country doesn't let people from their country go to the USA. Just as simple as that. People don't want that. Do they? That’s why I hate these laws that are against immigrants. I know not everyone from this country is like that but the majority is. Or at least the politics are. Again not all of them.

Well thanks a lot for taking your time to read this. I really hope you understand where I'm coming from. I’m not trying to go off on you, but I'm just so sick of these laws. I hope you consider my opinions and agree with me. Please help me and all those immigrants that will really appreciate this opportunity. Once again thank you so much. Even if you don't agree, still thanks for wasting your time on reading this letter. Hope you have a great day.

Sincerely:

Karen Galvez

Senator Letter #33

Dear Senator:

Hi. The name is Jessica Castillo, an eighth grader at school (Frank Borman) trying to learn the basics of life. Sometimes life can be hard on you and you just have to deal with it. Do you remember your eighth grade year? Many do, but really don't want to. Why? They don't want to because they are afraid to remember all the horrible things that have happened to them when they were about my age. The new laws that are now going to be passed by the new President may affect the life of many people. The reason I’m writing this is not just an article, it's a whole nation’s story. Though I’m not going to write a five page essay, I will say or "write" a few reasons why immigration is such a controversial issue that many people want fixed. I’m also write this because it’s horrible to see that many people want to work peacefully and aren’t able to do that because they just don’t have the right documentation. I strongly believe denying a person to work is absolutely ridiculous. I mean wouldn’t you like to work, and get paid fairly? Though some immigrants may get work, they don’t get paid enough in order to feed their family and buy their needs.

The problem with "Illegal immigrants", is that thousands of them die each day! Sadly they die trying to cross the dessert and or die because of not having enough water for the long walk. Even though some may make it and others might not, they aren’t allowed to work in the state they immigrated to because of not having documents. They can easily call someone that does them and lie to the office they are going to work at but it wouldn’t be the same. They worked so hard, for just not being recognized by their own name but by another person’s. A lot, a lot, about 12 million people are here in this country without papers! How do they survive all Racism, Prejudice, discrimination? How do survive another day if they aren’t allowed to work in order to bring food to the table? Question, questions, and more questions, but we need to do something about it! The documents are needed and many don’t have them. This of course makes it harder for them to bring food to the families table if they brought with them children or left them in there origin. Some want to work but they don’t have the right documents in order to that. Instead they wait by Home Depot or any other store and wait, and wait, wait, until a man or woman pass by and trick them for a job. To then be deported back to their original start, just because the person was on the con side of immigrants. Sadly that does occur on the daily life of others.

The problem is not just a small problem. It’s HUGE!!!! I not just affect the adults it also affect the children. From my view and others, we all like to have fun in our families. Go out for vacation, out to the beach, and do all kinds of stuff. But what if you can’t go out to public because of "FEAR?" Most of kids want to go out and visit places but the papers are the ones that are necessarily needed. Without papers or "documentation" they can do such thing whets so ever. Kids at school talk about what kinds of places they would like to visit for the summer, though they may say lies and go with the flow. Some schools may be anti bullying, Racism, but what if they don’t do something about immigration bullies? What might happen if the bullying increases it power and the person can’t take it any longer? The answer is cruel and sad. Children may get traumatized by looking at the news and Racism on TV, just because their parents are not from this country. Sadly they wait and wait for just a tiny change that will affect the daily and yearly life of theirs.

A chance? Everybody deserves a chance. People and kids are suffering because they just don’t have the right documentation to stay here and live life like other families. They are waiting for a change that will make a difference in there life. I know I’m only 13 years old and may sometimes make mistakes but we kids see all that is around us. For example, I’m all about peace and sometimes not agree with the laws the Government may make but has to go with the flow, but sometimes it can get pretty irritating to see. Immigration for example is a very controversial issue, so something has to be done about it. It has to change! Why not let immigrants stay if we were immigrants once? I would like for this to once and for all change!

There should be a law to let all good immigrants to stay in this country if they have done well to the state and have a good background behind them. Good people shouldn’t have to pay the price; it’s the bad that always make the good look bad as well. Meaning that if immigrants have a good background or record during the years they’ve been in the place they immigrated to, should be allowed to stay with a legal permit. The permit should be renewed every two years with a fine of $100 dollars per person. That way the place immigrants want to immigrate to can have money for the them. This will reduce deaths and families from starving and for children to keep on going with their studies. then by knowing they are not less then the people who have papers they won’t feel left out on talks and trips. If a immigrant kid does good in school, why let them keep on doing good? If they deserve to go on trips to other states because of their good status and report cards why not let them? they deserve it!

This of course will work for many families that are here undocumented and for them to have the chance to improve themselves as human beings. Now if those dos happen many families won’t have that "FEAR" to go out and enjoy a day with the family. This will work just fine because the fine they have to pay is fairly easy to pay if the families are large and if they are small. Every year the state or country will receive money because of letting people work in their state which seems to be normal. Both sides of the argument will receive benefits. It is a great idea that I assure will succeed with your help.

Immigrants that have done no harm to the environment but good should be able to stay in the place they immigrated to. All in all I appreciate your attention to this letter and please take note of what I’ve said so far. If there exists a small chance lets make it happen. Maybe someday we can become one nation put together not many scattered all around because of selfishness, hate, prejudice, followed by many things more. If you can make a difference in someone’s life.......make it. they’ll appreciate it a lot. Thanks........

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #32

Dear Senator:

Hello! My name is Angelica Ortega and I am 13 years old. I am in the 8th grade and I attend school at Frank Borman Middle School. I am in the honors program and I am learning about the laws. I have my own opinion in some of them and it may get you upset but I am writing you this letter to share some ideas. I am here to share my opinion about the issue of "IMMIGRATION." I know that you guys are for it but in my opinion I think that immigration is wrong. You guys may think that the immigrants are destroying our country, ruining or communities, or doing other things but think about it, do you really think that immigrants come here to do that? If you were in their position you wouldn't like it at all. If you interview people you will find good reasons why they have come here to the United States. And you will find that they come here to live for great reasons.

There are many problems for this issue. One is that you are splitting up many families. Another reason is because you are not giving anyone a chance to prove that they are not here for bad reasons. Many people are here to do better for them selves but you can't notice that because you throw them out of our country. If you give them a chance you will realize that they are here to make our country a better place to live. In order for the jobs to be done, we will need to have other people from other countries. What race do you see mostly over at construction sites? The majority is Latinos/Mexicans. They are the only ones that can keep a job and prove what they believe in. They are the majority percentage that are able to handle the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. In reality they are the ones that are making our country a good environment to live in. If we make them leave then who will do these things to help our country survive?

What I would like you to do is at least think about giving the immigrants a chance. What about giving them a certain amount of time to prove that they are here for a good reason and not to destroy our country. Interview them, take a test, just do anything to at least give them that opportunity to prove their case in a respectful manner. I believe in all honesty that this may be a good idea and it is doing everyone good. This is truly helping our country in many ways. Yes, there are going to be a small percentage here not to help their family or not to do better but you have to realize the reality. Not everybody likes to do good and be proud but the whole world is not responsible. There are going to be those few. But just don't block the border from here to Mexico because of that 5%, it's not right!! No matter what it takes, just please give them a chance to show what they really want and how bad they want it. If they don't show it real bad then I understand.

I really believe that this will work for mainly 2 reasons. In my heart I believe that this will help our country. The reason being is because the great majority of percentage you see at construction sites are Latinos. They are the main race that are able to handle the cold and the heat. The second reason is because I believe that any human being has the right to go and live in any country/city/state and live where they want to. If they want to have a better life and believe that will happen in our country they should be given that opportunity and should be aloud to do so. Yes I think that they should be given a certain amount of time to get their citizen card that shows they are legal. I believe this will work and I think it's a good idea.

I just wanted to thank you very much for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my opinion. I hope that you have considered letting the immigrants have a better life and support their families. I understand your point of view but I do believe that it is wrong. I hope you try to compromise in my opinion and I will greatly appreciate it. I hope you have enjoyed hearing my "voice." I understand that I am only 13 years old but I don't like to hear about people dieing each day. I can make a difference!!!!!!!

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #31

Dear Senator:

My name is Maricela Mendez and I attend school at Frank Borman Middle School. I’m writing this letter for two reasons, number 1 reason is because I want a new law to be made and that is for immigrants to have a chance to live here and to make there lives better. Immigrants deserve the chance to make there lives better ,so I think that you and the other senators of this state should make that a reality. The second reason why I am writing this letter is because I want to convince you that immigrants truly make this country a better place to live in .Please consider letting immigrants stay here!

Prices of milk and other dairy products are going up. Why is this happening? The reason is this: immigrants are being fired and kicked out of this country, so now there is no one that wants to do the work that was being done by the immigrants .If you went to a farm any where here in America and you saw all the employees then you would see that a great majority of them are Mexicans, since the illegal immigrants have to go back to Mexico, there is no one that wants to do the work that the Mexicans were doing. So now the number of employees at farms are going down causing prices of milk and other dairy products to go up. Another reason why the price of milk is going up is because Americans working at a farm demand more money an hour then the immigrants did.
Immigrants come here for life changing experience so they are willing to do the work that most people aren't willing to do. Immigrants are hard workers and they can handle a lot of pressure, we need more people like that here in America.

The border blocking Mexico from America is getting bigger and bigger every year, just to keep Mexicans out of this country .In my opinion the border should be getting smaller. Actually there shouldn't even be a border. America and Mexico should get along .It seems like America is racist against Mexico because the government doesn't want Mexicans to come here. Mexicans truly do make this country a much better place. So in my opinion there shouldn't even be a border. I hope that in the future Mexico and America can get along without any complaints, so then people can choose to live here or Mexico without needing papers or anything like that.

Families come to America for many reasons; one of the main reasons is that America is considered to
be a freedom country. They come here to make their lives better because maybe in Mexico their lifestyle isn't as good as they want it to be. Mexicans are willing to learn English just so they can get a job to support their family. Remember Mexicans are people just like us so they deserve the right to have a chance, so they could stay here and work a job to support their family. Remember Mexicans are good people and they are hard workers.

Thank you, for taking time out of your day to read this letter. I hope I have changed your mind about how you think about immigrants. Please consider letting immigrants stay here, they truly do make this country a much better place. All I am asking is for this law to be made. I hope that this letter makes a difference in this community. I really appreciate that you took the time to read my letter.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #30

Dear Senator:

My name is Kristeen Bujanda. I'm an Eighth grader who goes to Frank
Borman Middle School. As a former student I know what the principals
look for. They look for Id's , color of undershirt, whether or not
they have the appropriate clothing. In my opinion they worry more
about fashion than education. I’m writing this letter to inform about
what is going on in the schools. There should be a law or anything
that bands them making fashion more important then education.

The problem isn't that the staff doesn't care , it's that they care
about the littlest things. They care about the clothes their students
wear not in my opinion about how they are doing in grammar and all
that fun stuff. When you see principals they don't ask you how are
your classes or how you doing they ask you where's your Id or what
color of shirt are you allowed to wear under the uniform. It seems
like all they care about is how their students look they don't care
whether they are failing. If they don't bring their IDS they get in
trouble but if they do bring them they don't get anything.

I would want you to propose a law to the senate and the house of
representatives. This law would state that the schools shouldn't care
about fashion. They should be worried about what their students’ scores
on test are and not if they have a black shirt or a white one. This
would be based on that no student should be suspended or be in ISS
because of their clothes. This would be considered that no student
should wear an Id. This would be a law that is based on education not
in fashion.

I think this will happen and help because a lot of students get in
trouble because of a dumb thing like clothing. You could check if the
schools are following the law by getting the forms that they filled
out of referrals. You could pay people to check this. Also you are
creating another job for this country. It will help the economy with
this action. Not only are helping the students but your putting a new
job out there.

I will appreciate any action you take with this law I want you to do.
I also appreciate that you took time from your busy schedule to read
this letter. Thanks for reading this. I hope you take action in this
issue. If you don't I'll still appreciate you trying to do something
for us students. Thanks again and I hope everything is fine for you
and your family.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #29

Dear Senator:

Hi, my name is Camila Moreno and I live in Phoenix, AZ. I currently go to a school called Frank Borman Middle School and I'm really excited because I got the opportunity of writing to you. I'm pretty laid back on most issues but there are two main ones that I really care about and those are immigration and discrimination against homosexual
people. Since you have probably gotten millions of letters about immigration I've decided to try and convince you about making changes on how things work for homosexuals.

People with different opinions exist all over the world and most of them are not judged. Gay people on the other hand have a different opinion and are judged for it, they cannot get married, they get beat up and hurt physically and mentally all the time. Now according to the laws of this country everyone is "free" but that isn't true at all.

I'm telling you this because I would like for you to convince people and convince yourself to make a law that lets gay people get married. It should be part of a “Gay Bill of Rights” allowing them to have the same rights as others. Maybe it doesn't mean anything to you but it would to me because I have an aunt that is gay, my mom's best friend is gay and even one of my friends is gay. I practically grew up with two gay people by my side and it has not changed my opinion about liking boys so it doesn't
really harm anyone.

Also think about you knowing someone that is gay, maybe it is a senator close to you, your neighbor or just anyone you appreciate don't you think they should be able to come out of the closet? Not letting gay people get married just kind of makes the USA look like a weak country because you won't accept the way your people is. Hopefully you agree with all the points that I made and hopefully I didn't offend you in any way. In conclusion I just ask for one favor from you, and you have done it, you read my letter. Thank you.

Sincerely:

Camila Moreno

Senator Letter #28

Dear Senator:

I'm writing this letter to tell you that I've come up with a very good law that can help so many people out. My law is that you can start working at age twelve and up. This law will help out many families because there are many families that don't have enough money and need help. If you are in a family like that and you want to help your family out, but they don't let you work because of your age. Many families need extra money so that they can put food on their table. This law will help many people.

I would like you as a senator to consider this law because it is very useful. You have the power to make people want this law because you are a powerful person and they will listen to you. I would really appreciate if you told people about this law and it would be really cool if you liked it because if you don't like this idea than you don't know what a law is. You’re a senator and I am just a kid no one is going to listen to me so you need to help me out with this great law.

This Law Would is very good to many people that are immigrants and don't have jobs and need their kids to work so they can survive. There are so many families in this world that many kids don't like their family because of their parents drugs abuse or other things. So they may want to work to stay away and get a better job. There are so many things that this law could be helpful to many people but I'm not going to tell you all my thoughts because I want you to think of some.

I told you my law and what is good in this law. It would be good if you thought of this law more because this law is such a great idea and I think it will suite well in this country.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #27

Dear Senator:

My name is Edgardo Martinez. Currently our state does not allow students to have snacks in school. Snacks should be sold in schools because selling snacks in school will get money for the school and they can earn money to buy school equipment. Also that money can buy equipment to sport teams. Students bring money to school every day and they usually buy junk food or to pay for lunch. People think that by kids eating junk food and snacks that students will go over weight. That will also not happen because in school we have P.E and recess after lunch. During those two times a student can run and play and lose that weight. Those are some of the reasons why we should sell snacks during school. I think that not eating junk food during school is somewhat dumb. Students will bring it on their own anyway. Why not teach students to be responsible and empower them in their eating habits rather than forcing us to follow rules that apply only to those who have bad eating habits? Or why not make school more active?

We need this law because it can earn money for school and buy equipment for school. Every day a person eats junk food and in school people want to eat junk food. Me being a student would pay every day for junk food and I'm sure everyone would to. Making that kind of money can help the school a lot in many ways. One of the best things to do with what the money is to buy school equipment so the whole school can have good pencils and paper. It might be possible to make enough money to buy computers for classes and that way we won't waist paper. There tons of things that you can do with the money that we can earn. That is one of the reasons that why we should sell snack food during school and why we should sell snacks in schools.

This law will get money for our school and will get supplies for school and this law will also benefit the student. The law will get money for school because snacks are very popular and they will sell as they have never been sold before. If they are sold like that you will make a lot of money. This law will not only get money for school but it will please the student. That money that we earn can get anything for school or we can donate money. You might think that eating that much snack food will get you chubby and kind of out of shape. That also won't happen because students have specials like P.E or recess or if they are in an after school activities. Those are only some ways that some can lose weight.

This law will effect the people decide to buy the snacks. It will also affect the people that don't exercise at all. That way people might stay over weight. Even though that can happen they might still lose weight by walking home or in P.E. This law may affect everyone but anyone can get around it. Selling that candy or snacks will help schools.

This law will work to help the school a lot in many ways. This will work because getting money for school or send it to charity. Everyone likes snacks and candy and soft drinks. An average student brings 3 or 4 dollars a day and they can afford candy and snacks. People can get thirsty and might want to drink Gatorade or something. That is what can happen if we sell snacks.

Sincerely:

Edgardo Martinez

Senator Letter #26

Dear Senator:

I'm a student at Frank Borman Middle School, and I have a concern. My problem is pretty brief; I think education is more important than fashion. My goal in life is to have a real goal on life, but by putting students (like me) to worry about fashion rather than school work, that's not going to take me anywhere, is it? I just want to let the principals know that making unnecessary rules shouldn't be allowed! I'm saying all of this because I actually do care about my future in school.

All my opinions are based on that education is better than fashion. Here's one of them: Principals and teachers could be worrying about our education right now, rather than wasting lots of money on Id's. They could also be worrying about students' education rather than wasting time checking if we have our uniform on right! Another reason is that students actually go to school to be taught actual school work, not fashion. One thing that I've noticed is that when people treat their students strict from the beginning, students disobey and don't care anymore. Like I always say: It's better to have SOME rules and still have the students obey the rules, than to have many strict rules, but have the students turn into rebels. (and trust me, the second choice always turns out to actually happen)

May I ask that you consider this a lot and understand what I'm saying. A way to understand better is to actually put yourself in our shoes/see our point of view. This decision that you will make will make sense because even you know that education in school is more important than fashion. What I ask now, is for you to please make the law that states: No uneducated rules allowed on school campgrounds. As we all know now, rules in schools have to be about education, NO to fashion!!

This law will obviously work because students will take consideration of what we did and appreciate it! We already know that whatever they tell students to do, they do the opposite, so this law will definitely work! I'm positively sure that the students will obey this law because we will finally let them wear whatever they want to, even in Elementary schools! After this law is made, students will go off stress and become real goal makers in life.(concerning education goals) After the law is passed though, students will have to obey it even more because it will become an actual law now. (and hopefully, principals will obey it as well!)

Now that you have read my letter, I thank you for using your time wisely while reading it. I really appreciate your time and hope you think deeply about what I have written. I understand that you may be very busy all of the time, so that's why I appreciate you for taking time to actually read my letter today. Once again I thank you and hope you understand that I made this letter especially for you so I really appreciate it! Please consider my letter for future voting and thanks again!

Senator Letter #25

Dear Senator:

I'm Clarisa Gomez. I am a student at Frank Borman
Middle School. I am 13yrs old. Well I am writing this letter to let
You know that we as teens and kids want to work!!!! We have a lot of
problems at home. We have a lot of free time. We are all going to
school and this will definitely help us to be more independent. This
will bring us more together in a way. Most of my family needs help to
pay bills and all of that stuff.

Most of us kids want to help out and we want things to stay the same.
We don't want to move or to change schools just because our parents
can't give us what we want, pay bills, and feed us. I think we
definitely need to stick together. That is so sad when you or a
friend's family don't have money to eat. You can resist a couple of
hours with out eating but, when you're little brothers or sisters
needs food that’ when kids/teens wish they could work. This is a scary
situation.

I want you to help us to let teens work. I know that
this is a lot I'm asking for. I just want you to help us because its a
lot of money we need. I wouldn't be asking you for this if it wasn't a
big deal. Yet it is. Don't hide away from a truth a person like me
asking you for a big favor. Just pretend you are in our place and
you'll feel pretty cruel.

This will work because most of kids have a way to convenience their
parents into getting what they need. I know this is going to be hard
because it won't be easy to convince their parents. At first I think
parents will be scared to let their kids got to work because of
school and their social friends and all that. They will also be happy
that their kids are learning to be more mature. More adult like. This
should be maybe easy but, we have to be prepared to what ever people
may ask. It our voice to so it may be good to hear it.

Well that is all I have to say. Thank you for taking the time
necessary to read my letter. I would like to say thank you. I think it
is nice of you to have read my letter you are a good person. Even
thought I think it won't be pass as a law I will never give up!!!

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #24

Dear Senator:

Hi my name is Kayleen Yunis.I go to a great school, Frank Borman Middle School. In social studies we are learning and discussing many great things that have happened and that are going on in the world. There was some interesting stuff that I learn such as congress and people who pass the law. I thought that we need another law. Something that will help everybody looks good. So when other people come to visit they would be impressed. We should do something that every other state would want to copy us. My friends and I have done a lot of thinking. We really want you to understand and respect what we have to say.

Everyday when I go to school pass through a lot of pollution. Trash all over the place and then people has broken down cars in their front lawn and oil stains all over the place. Their blue garbage trash is still left out their and taking up some of the side walk. When my friends come over I really wished they can see the good part of me neighborhood. They can't because there is a lot of trash out side most of the time dogs and cats are wondering around with no owner and can end up biting some body. I want people to come over and see what a wonderful neighborhood I live in and not just mine has problems all of the other ones are rather messed up too.

If we make this happen I know it would work. People can learn to keep the environment clean and things would look better. It is something daily that people should be doing anyways. If they do what they have to does it would probably become a habit to them. When people go to the store they won't want to through things around in the store parking lots. If we just do what we have to do things get easy? They shouldn't feel forced these are something’s that they have to do anyways. Everybody wins. Everybody lives in a nice clean neighborhood. It helps to make things get better. We need someone very important to help get people to keep things clean. Tell everybody how important it is.

This can work. People should be able to do this everyday as their daily thing in life. It is pretty easy these are thing they should be doing anyways, but they just choose not to. They will learn to respect the community in a very good way. People will soon learn the reason why we really need this. Since global warming his happening right now whether people as if to believe it or not this is a good way to rather help it in a way to stop. At the same time we are helping ourselves and for children who can grow up in a good community. This makes thing better for the best.

People don't really care what we teenagers have to say; because to most people we are "just teenagers" I hope you can try to understand what I am trying to get across. I know you guys are really busy doing really big and important stuff. It really makes me feel good that you took some time off to read my letter. Thanks for giving me your attention and time to read my letter. Thanks!

Sincerely:

Kayleen Yunis

Senator Letter #23

Dear Senator Brown:

Hi my name is Tracie Torres and I go to Frank Borman middle school and my teacher Mr.Spencer and he would like for us to write a letter to see if you would pass the law that we have made up as group. My law is to give everybody social security because I think that every body should have it.

As you could see people with papers have social security, but people with no papers have no papers don't have social security. Social Security is important because you could use when u need a doctor or when an accident happens or when you do taxes etc.It helps you in a certain way. Mostly family members get social security because of there kids. They use when there sick, instead of paying a doctor they just use the card. When the parents don't have social security they have to go and pay witch is not easy sometimes or sometimes they can't afford it. The senator needs to see or realize that people do need social security is very helpful for families. Also, if people don't have it then they wont be able to live here.

Also people need it to get a job and when they visit the doctor and people need it for a lot of things. As a student I think that it is important because we need it as we grow up and also when I go to the doctor they some time ask for it. Also we need the social security is to get into school. We also need it to social security. I researched that Seven in 10 Americans agree with President Bush that Social Security eventually will go bankrupt if Congress fails to act, though most predict that the system will not do so for at least two decades. Yet while Bush has warned of a crisis in Social Security. The polls raise serious doubts about whether Americans are willing to make the choices necessary to fix the system's financial problems. Solid majorities reject both increases in payroll taxes and decreases in retirement benefits, except for the wealthy. Experts agree that without new revenue coming in or less flowing out as benefits or both the Social Security system will not be able to pay all its promised benefits, maybe fast then 2042.

This is a really important law. It needs to be passed because every body needs it, they have too used to do their taxes and get their money from the government. Just because they are not citizens it does mean anything they are still humans that need identification because if they don’t have it then if they get in trouble then you wont know who they are and they could get away with a crime. Everybody should be identified for when a problem like this can happen. It is not only the bad things that can happen the good things too. When some works very hard they should get paid the right amount. I think that you should help pass this law because very body should be treated like where all the same.

Sincerely:

Tracie Torres

Senator Letter #22

Dear Senator Bennet:

Hi, my name is Stephanie Munguia. I am a 13 year old girl going to Frank Borman Middle School. I am writing this letter because I have recognized that we have a problem. This problem would be about the Aims Testing. I know this might sound like any other letter you might get, but I just want you to know that just because I am just a student it doesn't mean that I do not realize issues when I see them. Many people say that we are just kids and we don't know any better. But you'd be surprise that how much us "kids" know. So please open your mind and heart to continue reading this letter. Please just take a moment of your time and consider our solution.

The problem is the Aims Tests that are part of the No Child Left behind Law. Yes, I know many kids have problems with them but this is not just because kids don't like test. It's that who controls our education. Who controls what we learn, who controls if we past or fail? Standardized testing does not measure how far a kid can get and how far they are willing to go. It does not measure there learning strength!!! If people want to figure out what a child can do and how high they can get, they can make it through with out Mcgraw Hill. They can make it through without the Aims. But those kind of test don't get us anywhere... We need a better recourse...

You are probably asking your self, how in the world can you help. But you can do more than you think. You can speak up for those who are silenced!! You can make commercials. You can write laws. You can even use the filibuster when they try and pass No Child Left Behind again. You can do so much. All that is needed is just a voice. We can do it on our own, I think. But with your help it can be a bit much easier. So please help us out. We need a voice, we need you!!!

How will it work? Is probably going through your mind over and over again. I am not so sure either. This may not work but everything is worth a try. Our voice can be heard, and you can be a great part of it. It might not go how we planned but letting someone control what we learn, and if we past or fail is not fair. So please help us out. Give us a “louder voice.”

Thank you for your time. Please consider this...We would greatly appreciate it. You can give us a voice that can be heard. We need a hand, the problem is... Will there be one to help us up? Please and Thank you for your time.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #21

Dear Senator:

I would like to pass a law to make abortion illegal. I want to make it illegal because it is the same thing as killing or murder. I want to pass that law because many people are doing that and it is not right. killing is not right. Nobody should do that and you at least try to pass the law.

Abortion is a big problem right now. Many people think it is murder and they are right it is kind of like killing. They think that you should pass a law so you can make it illegal. We would like to make this a law because people shouldn't be doing that. Abortion is wrong and it shouldn't be allowed to go on. So I want you to try and pass this law so it can be stopped. It is a big problem right now because many people are doing that. Sometimes for no reason.

So I want you senator to make this a law so people can stop killing babies. It is very wrong. I need your help to stop this. It is unfair that babies don't even get to live in this world. I want to change that and make it a law because many of that is going on. People shouldn't be aborting. It is a bad thing for people to do.

I think that it will work because many people agree with that. It will work because many people believe that and they will mostly follow the law. I think we should make some exceptions for some people like people that have medical problems, or people that were raped. We should do this because it isn't the persons fault. Other than that we should make it a law.

Thank you for reading this letter and I hope you make the right decision. Please take my advise and make abortion illegal. I think that you will listen to me because many people agree with me. Thank you for listening.

Sincerely:

Dear Senator Bennet:

I’m a student at Frank Borman Middle School in Arizona. Driving is needed in some people’s lives because they need to go place that aren't near all the time and that's why I'm writing this letter. Have you ever needed to go somewhere but didn't have a ride or your parents wouldn't take you as a teen? Have you ever wanted to get a license at age 15 or 16 but you couldn't because of your age? Think about you teenage days and think about how us or teens now days feel about driving especially when they need to get somewhere important.

Driving is kind of a big problem to people in the world because everyone needs to get places and they can't always walk especially where they live, some neighborhoods aren't safe to walk around and they aren't safe to hang out because some of these places are bad and they end up having shootings and what not. Some people are afraid to come out their houses because they are afraid that they are going to get shot and they don't want to die.

Teenagers want to be able to have fun and what not and just because there are people that go out and drive when they aren't allowed to that doesn't mean that all teens should be punished and they should have the right to drive at least the age of 15. There are teens out there that are good teenagers and they actually want to get a good education and they can't because sometimes they want to drive to school or work and they can't because they aren't old enough. There are some parents that are able to bring them to school and all but they don't want to be seen with their parents. If I was to have a good education and want to be a successful person then I would probably drive with or without a license because I would be the one to obey the laws and what not so that I wouldn't be the one to get caught without a drivers license and be in trouble.

The problem with teenagers driving is that some of them don't care about the laws. There are some teens that weren't born here and they don't really know that they aren't able to drive yet but their parents should tell them at least. Some teens, me for example I'm only 14 going on 15 but the thing is that I want to be able to drive when I'm 15 because then at that age since I'm already starting to go out with my friends to parties and what not I want to be able to bring them where they have to go and I would like to get where I have to go without someone always having to watch me all the time. Walking is a waste of some teens times because they either are lazy to walk or they don't trust their neighborhood. Me and some of my friends don't trust our neighborhood because when I walk around sometimes I end up getting honked at or even follow and I don't feel comfortable especially when I'm by myself. Some teens parents aren't able to take them everywhere and they don't want to take the city bus because they are nasty and full of germs.

What I think you can do is at least hear what some people have to say about teens driving and at least give them a chance. If anything they should give them a license at the age of 15 or 16 and they should be able to drive, at night time maybe not all the time but they should be able to drive and then if they just so happen to get in trouble then they can take it away and have them be able to get it back when they are 18 or 19 or maybe even later. That should be a little punishment because we all need it at some point in life but then when they give it back they should have to pay a little fee it depends on what they did. If the reason that they got their license tooken away was really serious then they should get it back and be treated like an adult because they want to act like one so treat them like one.You should hear what we have to say and if you have to then ask adults when they vote if we should be able to. Everyone was a teenager once in life and they know what it's like when you have no car and you like to go places and have fun like all the time and they should tell us whether we should be able to or not.

Thank you for taking the time to read what I had to say and hopefully you will think about it. I'm not doing it just for myself but I'm doing it for all teens that deserve to drive and some of us need some kind of education not all teens try their best to pass and what not but that's because they don't care about their future.

Dear Senator:

My name is Nancy De La Rosa I'm a student at a junior high school. I'm writing this letter because I think that gay marriage should be allowed. As a student I think that it should be allowed because when you love somebody or really like somebody and that you want to settle down and get married to that person and spend your life with him or her and like you cant because you like the opposite sex.

That's is not a great thing because like then if you do and don't listen then you would maybe have to go to jail or something. I know that you wont care that I wrote you this letter because I am a student and just a teenager but I know that if you were like that I know you would of want to get married to somebody that you really love and like. You would of got mad because you couldn't get married and like you would of done something. I really think that; if you really think about it you would of agree with me.

The problem is that people that want to get married do really want to and but they cant because like they wont let them and like they people would make fun of them just because they are gay. That is so rude to make fun of people and I know you wouldn't want that to happen to you if you were they.

It will stop by people laughing and telling you that your [this or that] and that will hurt your feelings. People would want people to know that they are really happy for you and that you would want to know if you are going to spend your time with that person. Like when you want to do really want to get married you would be happy because people know that who you are getting married to and wont care who you get married to.Thank you for taking your time and reading this letter that oil wrote. I really appreciated I hope that you would think about it and agree with me.

Senator Letter #18

Dear Senator Barrasso:

I'm an 8th grade student that wants to make a difference in someone's life. I am writing this because I want to give the immigrants the right to go to college or university. I believe that every person should have an opportunity to go to college or university if you choose to. Just because they are undocumented people does it mean that they can't get a better education? A lot of high school graduates are ready to go to college or university. The problem is that some of those students get sad to leave high school because they know that they wont be able to go to college or university.

Many immigrants wish they were legal to get a better education by being able to go to college or university. Every year some high school graduates don't get the opportunity to go to college or university because of this situation. That's why the law that my and I chose was about immigrants should have the right to go to college or university. This law will have its ups and downs some are going to be very interesting and others typical.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #17

Dear Senator Cantwell:

I'm a kid at Borman Middle School, writing this so you can try to lower gas prices. Because that is something that people are having a hard time trying to do or get. That is one of the things that people have a hard time trying to get for their Vehicles or ATVs, That is a law that I want to pass around.

It will help people save money, and help lots of people. It will help because like some people have problems paying gas. This will help so many people because like it just will, for some because of their big Vehicle. Bigger Vehicle wastes more gas and it wastes a lot of money. Lot's of people will like this new law because of the money they will save up.

I want him to pass this around and to make sure or try to be able to make this new law official because I got a feeling it will help so many people out with paying their houses or bills etc. I want this to be passed around because I have a feeling that it's going to help a lot of people and they deserve to be helped once in a while. I want my law to be passed around so it can like help and save you some money for yourself or family members or maybe even your home.

I think it will work because like people will save up some money and I'm pretty sure lot's of people around here want the gas prices to lower just like I want it to and my family members. It will be a good thing because people will get more gas then what they usually get and pay and when someone pays your company gets money and it will keep on working like that until the end of time. It won't change unless someone makes a change or something like that. It will work

Conclusion
Well I want to thank you for taking your time to read and listen to some of the couple of things I had in my mind and yeah. Well who ever read this hope you don't think nothing bad about this writing that I wrote and Hope that I put these word's to some of the ways you may understand and um like help you read and understand every sentence I wrote. Well I did the best that I could to analyze or edit it and put it in every way you can read it, Well once again Thank You for taking your time to read what was on my mind.

Senator Letter #16

Dear Senator Alexander:

Hello my name is Karla and I am writing this to explain to you a law that I would like the Congress to pass. This will make life so much better for many people.

The law that I would like for you to pass is that if an immigrant has been here for five years or more could become a resident and very soon be legal and have papers. However, the only stipulation is that they must have a clean criminal record and if the do have a record it has to be something minor. If they are poor the government could allow them to get a job and get their life on track. There is a lot of immigrants that would love to go to school and get and education. Many even want to go to college but they cant because they are illegal here.

I would like for you to pass that law because I know people in Mexico that would like to come and got to college but they can’t because they are illegal immigrants. All they just want is to have a better life for their family or they want a great future with a steady job. In Mexico you can’t get a good education as over here in the United States.

This will work because we will give all of the immigrants a chance to have a better life and if the only way they could get their papers is to stay for 5 years and they have to have a clean criminal record they would try to be good. They will not want to commit a crime. This might bring down our crime rate if hardworking people move here. It would be great if they could get their papers and go to college and you never know if an immigrant could find the cure for cancer and people are ruining the chance of that happening by not letting immigrants got to college and not give them their papers.

Thank you Mr.Senator for taking your time to read my letter. I really really hope that you take all this into consideration.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #15

Dear Senator:

I am writing a essay on lowering taxes and how we should lower them at least a little bit. Almost everybody payes there taxes and some people don't because there to lazy or they are to busy paying there bills. That topic is what I'm going to write about.

First, people that pay there taxes are the most trustworthy people but people that don't do that are lazy or don't have the money. America needs money from taxes to use to pay for new roads, building's and all of the thing's that make America run how it does to day. We need to lower taxes but at the same time we also need to keep the taxes at a certain amount of taxes so that way we save and still have money for America to fix thing's.

Second, there are some people out there in the world that think that taxes are easy to pay off. Those people think that they can do anything because they have this big thing we call money. They can pay off anything that they want while there are some people that are doing anything to get a job and get money to eat and pay bills and there are a lot of people helping the rich but there is know one helping the poor but only the people that care.

Third, there are people that fight for this kind of law to be pass mentally and physically. But the only that can make this law pass is very strong words. This law can be a dangerous law to discuss because if they think on not passing this law then all of the people that think it should be passed are going to get involved.

There are some of the opinions that I think should be good reasons. But my opinions won't change the law that stands. That is a opinion from a 13 year old kid. Thanks for your time.

Sincerely:

Joseph Lugo

Senator Letter #14

Dear Mr. Senator:

Hi, my name is Joel, I go to Frank Borman Middle School. I am in the 8th grade. The reason why I am writing this letter to you is because I want you to pass a law. The law that I want to pass is a law saying that people should at least be able to drive even when they are 14 years old. You should pass this law because their are some people that drive even when they aren't old enough. You should pass the law saying that they can get their drivers license if they can drive good and are tall enough to see over the steering wheel.

This law is a good law for all the teenagers. The reason why is because mostly all the teenagers are never at home they are with their friends almost all the time. Then when they need a ride to their friends house mostly their parents never give them a ride. So if you were to pass the law they would never have to ask their parents for a ride again. They would be able to go were ever they want to. That is why it is a good thing to pass this law.

But the same laws will go against them like speeding and not having license plates. This law would really work for all the teenagers that are mostly never home. They will never have to ask their parents for a ride anymore. That is why it is a good thing to pass this law. But for the teenagers they should have some different laws. Like they should not be able to drive around after midnight. Also they should not be driving if they do not have someone with them that is at least 16 years and older.

But the bad things about this law is that their are more chances of the teenagers can run away from home. That is one thing that is bad about this law if you would to pass the law. Another thing that is bad about this law is that car accidents can go up because of this. Their are more things that are bad about this law but I just can not name them all. Another thing that can go wrong is that their can be more chances of teenagers being caught drunk driving. Or maybe teenagers driving while taking drugs like they might have been smoking marijuana. The chances of those can be high because mostly a lot of teenagers drink before they are old enough or smoke.

But out of all the bad things that can happen passing this law can be a good thing for teenagers and the parents. Because not all teenagers are always at home and when they are not at home they are with their friends. But when they are at home they might want to go to their friends house but their parents would not take them their.

Senator Letter #13

Dear Mr. Senator:

My name is Joaquin Moreno and I go to Borman Middle School in Phoenix Arionza. I am writing to tell you that some of the cases that are going to be in the in the election its going to be immigration. The immigration issue is important, because it has been going on for years and still will this year it will be even worse.

We need a law that says any immigrant should stay if they have
a job or if there married to someone that has a job. That's messed up that America is keeping out immigrants. Shouldn't everyone get a chance to come to America.

Sincerely:

Joaquin Moreno

Senator Letter #12

Dear Mr. Senator:

This is Reyna.F. and Ivette.L. We are students at Frank Borman Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona. We are writing this letter because we want you to hear about what we think. We think that they should let 15 year olds work. I think that because if they get works they can help their family. I don't think that they want to wait for 1 more year to be able to work. There's nothing wrong with working at the age of 15.

Also they can't work because people think they are still a miner
they don't think they can handle their jobs that they get assigned.
But to prove they can they should let they at least try and if they
don't like how they work then that's up 2 them. But I think that they
should at least let them try something new. I also think that if they let them try the 15 years olds will get better and probably every thing that goes on will stop.[like gangs, fights, and tagging.] that's what I think.

I think that it will work because some parents want their kids to work all ready but they can't because they are NOT 16 or older that's why I think that they should let the 15 year olds work because some parents want their kids to work for they can help them pay there problems like the bills. Also probably for they can pay their own studies and they can buy what they want. They can also help their family and more people. They can help themselves by buying what they need for school.

Also if they work at 15 their lives will change they will see how are parents have hard times to earn that money and that we want every thing and their parents get it, but they don’t know how hard they work fir they can get money for they can buy us what we want.

What I want the senator to do is to allow this law for people and kids could have better lives and for they can have money for the can help their family and any one for they can help their family pay for bills and more things. Also if they work they will get money for they can pay for their studies. Well that's what i want the senator to do I hope it could come true. I'll be so happy if they do allow this all like that when I’m 15 I will get my 1st job.

Senator, Thank for taking your time and reading are law we want for a great better life. We thank you alot. I hope you like what you read and hope you want this to be one of your laws. Also I think that this will be a better a great law because alot of kids will want to work and their lives will change. Well THANKS again for taking your time to read this.

Senator Letter #11

Dear Senator:

Hi name is Irene Diaz and I'm 14 years old. I live in Phoenix and I go to Frank Borman middle school. I 'm in 8th grade, in the Andromeda team. Sorry if I'm wasting your time but I really want you to read this, I'm writing this latter because I want you to do something about Environment Pollution. We don't really worry about this but its really effecting our Environment and it is bad for us. However, this letter I’m writing it's really important to me you read it because we need to do something about this problem. It's affecting our community and you as the Senator need to do something because it is also your community. Environment Pollution is really important for our citizens because it is affecting them.

In stores, restaurants, parks, and other many places there is trash in everywhere. Many people have health problems like lung cancer, and radon diseases. The bacteria Pollution is causing a lot of lives. This is effecting us and earth because is where we live and we don't really worry abut this but this is serious because it's going to far causing people lives. The air we breathe, the water we drink, and where the food we eat grows. That is one of the things that is effecting and if is affecting this things it is also affecting us because we drink or eat them. We need to change the Environment Pollution.

I want you to help us change this because it is really hurting us. You can talk on television and tell how the environment Pollution is hurting. There is a possibility to make this to a law to not true trash and take more care about our Environment Pollution. I want you to do something about because we can't do that much because we don't have the necessary money or people to work on this. We don't either have the ability to do this because we don't know what to do or what we should start on. It's hard and you need to do something because it is your country to worry about. Tell everybody what they can do change this places to better one.

I think talking on the television will work because almost everyone watches it. This lesson would travel around the world to make sure that everyone listens to it. Like we know almost everyone watch TV. And people should be able to watch this and think about. Learn more about their community and how to social to help their Environment. It's really important to do this because is killing people. It would work if do it and don't forget that is important to take care of our Environment Pollution.

Thank you for reading this and please do something about it because it is really affecting us. Probably this is not a good letter, but I did my best in writing this letter. Thanks for the time you had to read this, is not that interesting but it's really important for me because I want you to help our Environment. I hope you don't get board with this, but please try to understand that I want to help with the Environment Pollution. I also care about our Environment Pollution. However, thanks for taking some time and reading this letter.

Sincerely:

Senator Letter #10

Dear Mr. Senator:

I am Giovana Regino, a middle school student from Arizona, and I am writing this letter well because a lot of reasons. Reason number one, I want a better future. Reason number two is that we think we are the best state or one of the best but our education is not that good many people don't go to school. I believe that we should help people with their tuition. In order to become a better country we need a better education that we can afford. It would let people accomplish their dream. You would help lots of people and their family.

The problem is that people are not getting the education they deserve because they can not afford it. People are not going to school because they can not afford it. People should be able to pay for college. People can go broke because they try to pay for college. People go into debt and in the end they don't even end up staying in college. Those are some problems people might run into.

I would want him to help lower the college fee. I would like for him to help people pay for school. It would really help the community. I just want you to help people better their and my future. He should help pass the law or at lest vote for it. Encourage other people to vote.

It will work because I asked people why they don't go to school and they answer because they can not afford it. So if they could afford it they would go to college. I have herd one person say they would go to school if they could pay for it or get a scholarship. We want to be the best but with out people getting education it won't happen we will not be the best. I know this will work. People even in middle school say they won't go to school because it cost to much and that is in middle school. We can change that.

Thank you for taking your time and reading it. It means a lot to me. Thank you for your time. I hope you enjoyed it.

Sincerely:

Giovana Regino

Senator Letter #9

Dear Mr. Senator:

I go to Borman Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona. This letter is a part of a project that our group worked on, where we are trying to persuade the Senate to pass a law. Well I am here to inform you about the law that me and my group came up with. We figured that the more that the students go to school a little bit later. We figured that some kids just don't go to sleep early they may believe that they want to stay up at night to watch the late night shows. Who knows what they do late at night? The majority get to school late and get a Saturday school what does that help? It isn’t showing us to wake up early you just have an extra day of school. Now that I talked to you about the law that we came up with now I am going to tell you more of how this law is going to work.

Well my group thought that this law was a good one. We believed that this law would make a difference. It will make a huge difference to our school and many others. Schools simply don’t take into account the fact that middle school students don’t get to bed early. So, they end up tired and don’t do as well on the tests.

The only solution that we came up with is to change the times that we begin school. We extended the time on purpose so kids can come to school later. We thought that all kids probably do not go to sleep early. Now they can go to sleep and get enough sleep and won't be tired in class they wont be falling asleep in class because they got more than enough sleep. that is why me and my group would love to have this law.

I believe this law is going to work because kids love to stay up at night to watch the late night shows or whatever they like to do late at night. Kids are not getting enough sleep lately. That’s why I believe this law is going to work.

Thank you a lot for taking your time to read what I have to say. Thanks again so hope I changed your mind in what I belive could change

Sincerely:

Gabriela Flores
